We at Shelley Rubber Stamp
and Sign want to have the best possible experience for you, the customer.
So this page has been put together as a way to make your experience of ordering
custom-made stamps, buttons and embossers easier. Please feel free to
print this page out if you need to give it to someone that does your artwork for
you, or even for your own use. As with anything, these are guidelines
and should be able to give you a good grasp of what is needed. If you
still have any further questions after reading this, please feel free to e-mail
us graphics@shelleystamp.com or
sales@shelleystamp.com ..
1. All artwork for rubber stamps, X-Stamper self-inking stamps, Brother®
self-inking stamps or embossers should be black and white camera-ready
artwork. Camera-ready artwork is defined as being printed by a laser
printer, not a DeskJet, Bubble Jet or Inkjet printer.
Resolution should be no less than 600 dpi (dots per inch) or artwork will
not conform to our high standards.
2. Customers can submit artwork on 3˝” Floppy Disks, CD-R/RW, or via e-mail attachment to graphics@shelleystamp.com or sales@shelleystamp.com . These methods are the preferred way to receive art over a simple print. Diskettes should be IBM PC-formatted and all files (disk, CD or e-mail) should be saved in Windows-based formats. Acceptable formats for graphics/pictures and/or graphics/pictures with text should be one of the following: .BMP .JPG .TIF .CDR or . PCX .TIF files are preferred above all. Graphics/pictures must be at a resolution of no less than 300 dpi (dots per inch) for X-Stampers or buttons and no less than 600 dpi for all other items.
3. File extensions listed above are the preferred types. If you have a program that creates a different extension, or you know the program that the file is created in, consult our graphic design department first before sending the file and let them know what extension the file is in or what program created it and they can tell you whether the file will be useable or not.
4. Signatures for stamps of any kind MUST be the original signature. We cannot use a photocopy, faxed copy or impression from a stamp, as they do not reproduce at all for a quality stamp. NO EXCEPTIONS! These must be sent via regular mail to us or you can scan them at 600 dpi and e-mail the signature to us.
5. For best results in making a signature stamp, please follow the following criteria: (a) Use a ballpoint or medium point pen (5mm to 7mm) in either black or dark blue. (b) Signature should be signed on unlined white copy paper, not textured paper, and on a full sheet of paper. (c) Signature should be actual size or slightly larger than actual size. Any signature in excess of 4” width will be subject to reduction and/or art charges. Any signature sent as a cut-out and either taped or stapled to another paper will also be subject to art charges. (d) Be sure to sign at least twice, leaving plenty of room between signatures so that no lines overlap. Any excessive cleaning-up or ‘breaking apart’ will also be subject to art charges.
6. Photos to be considered for our Brother ® self-inking photo stamps should be scanned at 600 dpi and then e-mailed to us. If you’d rather send then via conventional mail we ask that you send them flat, enclosing a self-addressed envelope so that we can return them upon completion. We ask this because only the trained eyes of our graphic design department will be able to determine if your photo(s) will work for our process.
