A small sign can say a lot.  It can let someone coming in your office know who you are, or even who you are before they get in.  It can tell a bank customer what teller is unable at this time to help them with their transactions, direct them to the next available one, or even give information on hours and policies.  And it can even tell a customer what manager is on duty for this shift in case of emergencies, complaints or praises.

We at Shelley Rubber Stamp and Sign have been making engraved nameplates since our beginning days for all kinds of purposes, and over the years we have added a lot of new styles, colors and sizes.  But one primary fact has always remained; we demand the best plastic materials.

For over 85 percent of our engraving business we rely on Rowmark® sign materials, found to be the best in the business and offering the most variety in textures, looks and colors.  Below we have tried to give you the basics on what we carry or typically use for our signs:

•  Textures - Primarily used for outdoor signage, but also good for indoor use.  Has a grainy "feel" to the surface.  This comes in a variety of colors, most with a white substrate that will create white lettering.

•  Slickers - A highly polished reverse-engravable material that will liven up any signage system, indoors or out.  All slickers materials have a bright front color with clear lettering upon engraving.

•  Ultra-Mattes - An outstanding collection of front and reverse-engraving materials in a low-glare finish that are easy to read and pleasing to the eye.  These are definitely geared towards architects and interior designers.

•  Lacquers - A super-glossy look that was created for outdoor use.  But due to its brilliance and shimmer, has found its way indoors as well.  Most face colors when engraved will show with white lettering.

•  Mattes - Perfect for when you want a muted finish.  This material is also the engravers' choice for fine cutting of small characters due to its micro-thin top layer.

•  Metals - When you want that metallic look, but don't want to or can't afford the cost of "the real thing."  Color choices are aluminum, silver, bronze and gold ... all in varying degrees of shimmer.

•  Satins - Not quite a matte finish, but not as glossy as the lacquer, this finish is the one that has dominated the engraving industry for over a quarter of a century.  It is also the finish that comes in the largest variety of fashion colors.

•  Granites and Woods - This collection gives that wood-like appearance to your signs, which is a favorite among the banking industry as well as a perfect compliment to an office decor that is beautifully done in deep, rich wood.

We can make you an engraved sign in most any size, but the industry standards are typically 2" x 8" and 2" x 10" and these are the sizes we stock in most of the available colors and styles.  Shelley's also offers desk and wall holders so that your newly engraved sign has a place to reside.  For wall holders, we also offer various ways to hang your sign ... from velcro to adhesive tapes to old fashioned screws.

Also available is the more modern looking "Architect" style (see photo of nameplate for 'ACCOUNTING' as an example).  These are a bit more stylish and also a bit more in money, but well worth it to get that modern look for your office.  These are also available in a wide variety of colors and come with frames that can be used on walls, cubicles or as a desk model.  Sizing is limited as most of these come in standard sizes.  Please consult with one of our Sales Representatives via one of our Online Forms shown in the left frame, or by our e-mail address shown in the upper most frame.

Nametags are also a specialty of Shelley Rubber Stamp, using the same Romark® materials described above.  Industry standards are usually 1" x 3" and typically done in matte finishes for ease of engraving and especially for fine lettering due to lengthy names and/or titles.  As would be expected, we also have an assortment of ways that your nametag can be adhered to your clothing via simple pinback clips, magnetic backings, military-style pins or alligator clips.
